I love this , as a fellow teacher this strikes so many chords. When you see it like this it shows the pace of life in a class. Really made me laugh ( no mean feat after 4 hours of parent meetings tonight!)

After spending four days doing ‘enterprise’ activities with 3, 4, 5 and 6 year olds, I can completely empathise with this great writing!

This is great. The one-sided conversation of a teacher/assistant that naturally involves many children. You could put this dialogue in a house of many children too!
It’s only when you look back at the things you find yourself saying that you realise what it sounds like and your eyebrows rise at the irony of it all.
I could hear Joyce Grenfell too as I read it. Brilliant & you didn’t even have to make it up!
Clever approach. Even though you only wrote one side, it is so true to life. But, my answer to the color question is that it should be any color the child could imagine. Nicely done.
