Red Hot

There was uproar in the Claus household. Santa was refusing to wear the red, fur-lined suit that Mrs Claus had so lovingly washed and pressed for the occasion. He was blaming the unseasonal weather, but Mrs C remained unimpressed.
“All those adorable children will be disappointed if you sit in the grotto in shorts and sandals.”
“Those ‘adorable children’ will soon complain if they sit on my knee and get soaked in sweat!” he replied grumpily. “I’m not wearing it and that’s final.”
“That’s not the worst of it,” said Crimble, the chief elf. “The reindeer are refusing to fly unless it snows.”

I like the fun in this one. I’m still smiling, but surpressing a shudder because I like my Santa the traditional way, and with his reindeer! 🙂
