Putting a Smile Back on Our Faces

A couple of days ago we welcomed a new family of gerbils into our home.  We’ll never forget Frodo and Sam – they were part of our family for 3 ½ years and we loved them a lot, but these 3 new rascals are helping put smiles back on our faces.  It’s taken a while, but we finally have names for them (although decent photos may take a while longer). So, these are our new babies.

EdwardEdward won’t sit still long enough for a photo yet, that’s why he’s so blurred.  He’s superfast and very pale – almost the same colour as the sawdust.

JacobJacob’s face is much darker than the rest of him – he looks as if he has a beard and moustache, and definitely looks a bit wolf-like.

Bella is a bit more grown up than either of the boys. She’s only about 2 weeks older, but already she’s taking her new home in her stride. And she’s pretty. All gerbils are cute, but Bella is particularly pretty. If we let the boys in her cage I’m sure they’d be fighting over her, so we’re keeping them well Bellaapart!
